A SPECIALIST care home manager in Bromsgrove has scooped a prestigious award for her palliative and end of life support.
Burcot Grange and Lodge’s dementia care manager, Caroline Morgan, has been recognised with the Palliative/End of Life Award at the West Midlands Great British Care Awards on Saturday (November 9).
Caroline, who has been with Burcot Grange and Lodge for five years, was nominated by her deputy, Charlotte Askew, who highlighted her ‘exceptional dedication and compassion’ in supporting residents and their families during the most sensitive stages of life.
Caroline joined Burcot Grange as a team leader and progressed to her current role as dementia care manager. Now, she is primarily based at the Lodge as it specialises in dementia care.
Throughout her time at the home, she has been an advocate for residents’ dignity and comfort, ensuring that no resident is left alone at any point during the end-of-life journey.
The award recognises Caroline’s profound impact on the lives of residents and their loved ones. Caroline’s colleagues describe her as an inspiring figure within the home.
Charlotte Askew said that Caroline’s dedication goes ‘beyond mere responsibility, it reflects her deep compassion and commitment to creating a nurturing environment.’
Caroline said she was ‘blown away’ by the outpouring of love and support from her colleagues and residents’ families.
She feels ‘very grateful and humbled’ by both the nomination and the recognition at the Great British Care Awards.
Commenting on the celebrations, Burcot Grange and Lodge’s general manager, Vicky Osborne, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled for Caroline – this recognition couldn’t be more deserved.
“She has an incredible way of connecting with our residents and their families, making sure they feel supported and cared for, especially during such tender moments.
“Caroline goes above and beyond every single day, and we’re so proud to see her compassion and commitment celebrated in this way.”
