THE DETAILS of this year’s Bromsgrove Remembrance Sunday parade on November 10 and wreath arrangements have been released.

Those wanting to take part in the parade should muster at the top end of the High Street by Argos at 10.20am, ready for the parade to step off at 10.40am.

Organisations wanting to take part in the wreath procession with the Lord Lieutenant, or Deputy should gather at Amphlett Hall, ready to step off at 10.10am to process to the Odd Fellows Memorial, to be part of the taking of the salute on behalf of The King. Bearers under the age of 18 needs to be accompanied by one adult.

The wreath procession will follow the back of the main parade as it passes en route to the memorial on Crown Close.

The wreath bearers will be held back until the main body of the parade has taken their places and then the wreath bearers can join their respective groups.

Wreath bearers will be announced in groups and lay their wreaths at the memorial when called.

The service will be conducted outside, starting at 10.50am with the Act of Remembrance at 11am.

A short wreath-laying service in St John’s Church will also take place afterwards and Amphlett Hall will be open for toilets use and to watch the parade from there.

Youth organisations should advise their young people to have breakfast and take water with them.

After the service, everyone is welcome to the Dry Spy for light refreshments and live entertainment.

Wreath arrangements

As last year, all wreaths will only be available between 10am to 4pm on Saturday (November 10), the day before the Remembrance Parade, at Bromsgrove Methodist Church.

The room is towards the back of the church by the car park on the Stratford Road side of the building.

Bromsgrove RBL chairman Jeff Evans said the pricing structure of wreaths was the same as last year but people were welcome to give more if they wished and the difference would be treated as a donation.

Organisations wanting to contact Mr Evans about getting a wreath should email him at: [email protected] or by phone on 07775 506709.
