Council's match-funding grants set to boost business growth in Bromsgrove

GRANTS to enable small Bromsgrove businesses to scale-up and grow is being rolled out by the council.

The Bromsgrove Business Boost fund is open for match-funding applications between £1,000 and £5,000.

Bromsgrove District Council have been enabled to roll out the grant scheme after support from the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Applications are now invited from companies trading from business premises within the Bromsgrove district.

Businesses must have been trading for more than 3 years and have less than 5 employees, with at least one full-time employee of which this is their sole employment.

If you do not trade from business premises, contact the council to check your business’ eligibility.




Cabinet member for economic development and regeneration, councillor Sue Baxter, said: “This grant could be a kickstart for local businesses looking to level up and grow as an organisation.”

The grant can’t be used for recurring costs (including salaries, stock, rent, utility charges, repairs & renewals), or for the repayment of existing loans or debts.


In addition, the grant cannot be used for the reimbursement of goods or services purchased prior to approval of the grant.

Grants are limited to one per business on a first-come, first served basis.

Successful applicants will be offered 50 per cent of the costs of an eligible project up to a maximum of £5,000. At least 50 per cent of costs must be funded from the business’ own resources.

Grants will be paid upon receipt of evidence of eligible expenditure being made on or after the grant approval date. Businesses are required to pay for the goods / services before claiming the grant.
