A CHURCH car park in Bromsgrove will be closed for a couple of weeks later this month for essential improvement works and resurfacing.
The All Saints Church Hall car park, accessed via Shenstone Close, will be completely closed for two weeks from October 28 so improvements works can take place.
After the surface was recognised as far passed the end of its design life, the car park is in a poor state of repair.
The old surface will be broken off and removed before kerbs are put in. A new surface will then be laid before lines will be painted on.
The work, to be completed by the council’s contractors Kelbec, will be noisy and dusty. The planning of the old tarmac could resul in small bits of debris being thrown around.
Therefore, the council are asking that all car park users remove their cars from the area and the car park before the works begin.
Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, Cllr. Sue Baxter, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this causes nearby residents, the works are part of an ongoing programme of improvement for parking facilities in the town.”
This work forms part of a bigger ongoing improvement project around the District.
