BROMSGROVE Sporting exited the FA Cup at the Third Round Qualifying stage following a 2-1 defeat at Chelmsford City.
A late goal from Shaquille Leachman-Whittingham proved only a consolation for the visitors at Melbourne Stadium after Chelmsford struck either side of the break.
The Rouslers have now lost to the National League South side Chelmsford in FA Cup Third Round Qualifying in each of the last two seasons.
Chelmsford broke the deadlock on 16 minutes when Jordan Greenidge headed in Ruaridh Donaldson’s cross from the right at the near post.
And the home side doubled their lead on 64 minutes as Kane Crichlow produced a clinical first time finish past Charlie Price.
Sporting halved the deficit three minutes into injury time as substitute Leachman-Whittingham tapped home from close range with Paul Smith’s unable to force a late replay.
Bromsgrove are next in action against Droitwich Spa in the Worcestershire Senior Cup on Tuesday, October 1 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the King George Playing Fields.
