WORKS to revamp tennis courts at the Lickey Hills has been completed to the delight of the country park’s society.
The Lawn Tennis Association funded the works with contractors brought in earlier this year.
The refurbishment project was expected to take around a month, weather permitting. Work began on March 11 with a full closure of the courts.
As part of the refurbishment, smart access gates have been installed. A court provider will be hired to oversee bookings and maintenance.
A spokesperson for the Lickey Hills Society said: “It is hoped this will result in more use being made of the courts. The four courts are clearly an asset for the Country Park.”
The tennis courts are located near to the Old Rose & Crown Hotel on Rose Hill.
From photos of the revamp, the courts appear strikingly similar to that of Sanders Park which were also refurbished in August 2023 thanks to funding from the Lawn Tennis Association.
