A TEENAGE girl has been taken to hospital after she was hit by a car in Northfield around 12.50pm this afternoon.
Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene at the junction of Bell Lane and Saxon Wood Close.
The girl received treatment before being taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The driver of the car, a 35-year-old man, was arrested by police on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession of Class A drugs.
He was also injured and has been taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further checks.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “He will be questioned in due course.”
The road remains closed while enquiries are ongoing.
