A LOCAL nursery group has again raised a hefty sum for Birmingham Children’s Hospital continuing its years of fundraising for the care provider.

Cottons Tails Nursery who provide childcare in Rubery, Northfield, Hagley and Quinton have donated another £2,500, bringing their total donations to the hospital above £40,000 over the last 32 years.

Every year, to raise the funds, the four nurseries host their own fun week consisting of dress up events, sponsored walks and more.

Cotton Tails Too in Rubery also held their own summer fete where the nursery’s head played splat the manager. Staff at the nursery described it as ‘great fun.

The nursery also made donations to two children they ‘hold dear to their hearts’. The two children are currently in and out of hospital and will be supported by the donations.

A spokesperson for the nursery group told the Standard: “Across our four nurseries we are all extremely grateful to all of the families that support us each year.

“We know what this money means to so many families that use the children’s hospital each day.

“So thank you everyone for your continued support and helping us make a difference.”

Last year the nursery were named Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity Champions for their continued commitment to fundraising for the charity.
