A FINE century from Jayden Levitt helped Bromsgrove Cricket Club ease to a nine-wicket win against Old Elizabethans in the Worcestershire County League Premier Division.
Levitt finished on 108 not out from just 85 balls as he hit 17 fours and two sixes in a stunning knock at St. Godwalds Park.
That came after the Boars bowled the visitors out for 191 in 49 overs after Old Elizabethans won the toss and elected to bat.
Bromsgrove made an excellent start with the ball as Darcy Sparks (2-38) took two wickets in the second over, removing both Jacob Hockey (9) and Tom Goodwin (0).
Old Elizabethans rallied as Angus Rees (21) and opener Jack Taylor (94 not out) added some valuable runs before the former was trapped LBW by Abdullah Ejaz (4-44).
And Will Tuffin (2-38) accounted for Alex Bastable (3) the following over to leave Old Elizabethans on 74-4.
Taylor Pugh (21) was the only other visiting batter to pass the 20-run mark as his wicket, bowled by Ejaz, sparked a mini-collapse.
Ejaz also bowled Oliver Chandler-Evans (5) and claimed the wicket of Charis Rebekah Pavely (2) either side of Richard Linfield (2-29) trapping Khalid Baig (3) LBW.
This left Old Elizabethans on 135-8 before Linfield had Richard Bentley (9) caught and Tuffin caught and bowled Arjun Jawanda (10) to bring an end to the Old Elizabethans innings.
Bromsgrove made light work of the reply as openers Levitt and Lucas Ingram (54) scored runs freely.
The pair put on 113 runs for the first wicket before Pavely bowled Ingram after the latter had reached a half-century in just 46 balls.
Levitt remained at the crease and eventually reached a century of runs, supported by Liam Ridings (32) as the Boars cruised to a nine-wicket success in 26 overs.
Bromsgrove are next in action away at Pedmore on Saturday, July 20 with the game to begin at midday.
