A BROMSGROVE school has received a prestigious award recognising its inclusivity and positive learning environment.
St John’s CE Middle School was crowned winner of the Best Practice in Inclusive Education Award.
The accolade honours education settings which demonstrate ‘exceptional’ commitments to promoting inclusiveness in the classroom and positive and supportive learning environments.
Staff were invited to London to attend the Education Business Awards ceremony on June 12 at the Leonardo Royal London St Pauls Hotel.
Alison Elwell, head of school at St John’s Middle School said: “We are incredibly honoured to receive this national award.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire school community. At our school, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or abilities.
“Our commitment to creating an inclusive environment is unwavering. We have implemented a variety of innovative strategies and support systems to ensure that all our pupils feel valued and are able to reach their full potential.
“This award not only celebrates our achievements but also motivates us to continue striving for excellence in inclusive education.”
Staff received the award on behalf of the school after being invited to attend the Education Business Awards ceremony on June 12 at the Leonardo Royal London St Pauls Hotel.
Following the schools nomination, Geraint Roberts, executive headteacher and CEO of the school’s trust said: “The Trust is committed to improving the life chances of our children by supporting them to achieve their full potential.
“I am very proud of the dedication and handwork shown by St John’s and Trust staff in achieving this fundamental aim.”
