Councillor Tracey Onslow elected new Worcestershire County Council Chairman

EXPERIENCED Councillor Tracey Onslow has been elected as the new Chairman for Worcestershire County Council for the civic year 2024/25.

Coun Onslow has been a district councillor since 2007 and a county councillor for the Kidderminster St John’s division since 2017.

She takes over the role from Coun Kyle Daisley.

In her time as a county councillor, she has been cabinet member for education, and a member of the council’s children and families panel.

In her career, Coun Onslow was deputy police and crime commissioner for West Mercia for six years, as well as the managing director of a property company.

She has served three terms as a cabinet member for Wyre Forest District Council, and is currently cabinet member for leisure, arts, community saftey, emergency, planning and regulatory services and culture.




Coun Onslow said: “This is a huge honour for me, as I am a Worcestershire girl, born and bred.

“I love our county and being Chairman will give me further opportunities to explore our gorgeous towns and beautiful countryside.


“I would like to thank my family, local residents and my colleagues for their support – I am looking forward to a busy year ahead.”

Councillor Allah Ditta has been appointed Vice Chairman for the new civic year.
