A GOLF tournament and dinner was on par for Bromsgrove District Council’s chair whose final event of the civic year raised over £1700.
Businesses came out in force to sponsor the event at Bromsgrove Golf Centre, from different holes on the course to a drinks reception.
Funds raised during the event on Friday will go towards chairman, Coun Sam Ammar’s chosen charity – the Age UK branch covering Bromsgrove. Funds are still being donated and will be added to the donation at a later date.
Coun Ammar said: “I would like to thank all the local businesses who have supported this event and also my colleagues from the Chamber.
“The golf tournament and dinner is the final event of my civic year during which I have met so many people from different groups and organisations across Bromsgrove.
“Their aim is to further enhance our wonderful District and it has been my honour to spend time with them and talk about their outstanding efforts.
“And I am grateful that I could fundraise for Age UK who support so many of our older residents, often providing a lifeline to so many people.”
