Police urge residents to use Streetsafe service to report issues and areas of concern

Bromsgrove Editorial 6th Mar, 2024   0

POLICE have launched a pilot service giving the public an opportunity to anonymously tell them about places in which they have felt or feel unsafe because of environmental and behavioural issues.

The issues West Mercia Police are looking for through the StreetSafe service include street lighting, abandoned buildings, vandalism or behaviours such as being followed or verbally abused.

Police in Malvern are urging residents to use the scheme, which is accessible for anyone within the West Mercia policing region.

A spokesperson for Malvern police said: “Thank you for your help. It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent crime and make our streets safer.”

Always ring 999 in an emergency.

Visit https://www.police.uk/pu/notices/streetsafe/street-safe/ to access the reporting service. The scheme should not be used to report crime or incidents.
