DONINGTON Training is offering a co-counselling courses at Alvechurch Village Hall throughout January and February.
The course, which takes place over five days at weekends, enables people to become members of the Co-Counselling International network.
They can then use their skills to help them improve their lives.
The way co-counselling works is that people take it in equal turns to be a counsellor and a client.
They do not have to be experts as listeners, mainly they just need to give steady, friendly attention.
Donington Training is a partnership of skilled, experienced and qualified trainers.
Jean Brant has a nursing and health visiting background, and was a senior lecturer in public health for 15 years and John Talbut has been in private practice as an adult education tutor and a counsellor since 1986.
The courses are not for profit and students are asked to pay what they think each course is worth to them and that they can afford.
Any money made goes to the Village Hall and other voluntary organisations in the village.
