A NUMBER of Christmas Day hampers have been delivered to those in need in south west Birmingham, thanks to local organisations.

Tony Geraghty’s Butchers supplied the meat and Sainsbury’s Longbridge supplied the vegetables.

Gemma Cartwright MBE, who organised the campaign along with husband Andy, said: “I am thankful for Tony, Sanisbury’s Longbridge and the other local businesses involved, along with the community.

“It is great how they have all come together to make a difference to so many.

“It is an honour to do this every year.”

Gemma also thanked all the volunteers who delivered the parcels, including Nicola and John Suciu, Tammy Clayton, Sanja and Andy, Longbridge Shopping and everyone who donated to the annual toy appeal which, again in conjunction with Sainsbury’s Longbridge, was a great success.

“Despite the cost-of-living increases, our community rose to the challenge and the toy appeal was amazing again – thank you all.”

People and businesses wanting to help with next year’s Christmas hamper campaign or toy appeal should email [email protected] to register their interest.
