Bromsgrove Men in Sheds got crafty this Christmas for Age UK fundraiser

Bromsgrove Editorial 30th Dec, 2023   0

BROMGROVE’S Men in Sheds group have been crafty this Christmas, creating wooden gifts for sale – with proceeds going to charity.

The men’s group were payed a visit by Belmont Healthcare recently, who had commissioned them to make wooden snowmen and reindeers.

Belmont Healthcare and the Age UK Men in Sheds shared the joy of the season, a few sweet treats, and heartfelt conversation during their meeting.

The company’s managing director, Adam Hutchison, wanted to support the group in their fundraising efforts so he commissioned the wooden gifts.

Snowmen and reindeer will now be presented as special gifts to staff at the healthcare company’s headquarters in Solihull.

Using donated wood and offcuts, the Men in Sheds lovingly crafted the delightful Christmas gifts. These handcrafted treasures can be pre-ordered in advance of Christmas, offering a unique and heartfelt touch to holiday decorations.

Andrea Vinten, head of communications at Belmont Healthcare said: “We were truly moved by the warmth and creativity of the Men in Sheds group.

“Their dedication to their craft and their sense of community spirit are truly inspiring.

“These wooden snowmen and reindeers will carry the spirit of the holidays to our head office team who I know will proudly display these as Christmas centrepieces at home.”

Age UK Bromsgrove Men in Sheds, is encouraging others to get involved or contribute to their Christmas appeal.

Jo Hughes, Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest said, “Thank you so very much for donating to the Bromsgrove Shedders’ 2023 Christmas Fundraiser.

“Your support is really appreciated and will help to ensure that the Bromsgrove Men in Sheds initiative can continue ‘making-a-difference’.”
