A FOOTBALL club has donated a club jersey to its main sponsor to thank the firm for its continued financial backing, writes Neil Gordon.
Representatives from Bromsgrove Rovers AFC gifted the jersey to James Giles and Sons Ltd to show their appreciation after the funeral directors committed to remaining the club’s main sponsors.
Adults’ team manager Spencer Machin, who made the presentation with assistant manager Kristian Rock, said: “We wanted to thank James Giles and their staff for the continued help and support Bromsgrove Rovers AFC adults’ team continues to receive.
“They are now into their second season as main sponsors, which includes being kit and tracksuit sponsors.
“As a sign of our appreciation, we have gifted the company a framed shirt for the second season running to show our gratitude.”
Rovers AFC was founded in 2021 by a group of Bromsgrove Rovers supporters following that club’s demise.
The new club, who compete in the Birmingham and District Football League, play in green and white in tribute to the Rovers.
Meanwhile, Rovers AFC welcome Sutton United’s C team to South Bromsgrove High School tomorrow (Saturday) in the second round of the Bill Hill Cup, with kick-off at 1.30pm.
