Budding politicians are invited to be part of a parliamentary event for young people next week (November 10).
The Worcestershire Youth Parliament Event aims to provide young people aged 11 to 18 across the county with an opportunity to explore the work of the Youth Cabinet and, most importantly, learn how their voices can be heard.
As part of UK Parliament Week (6 to 12 November 2023), Worcestershire Youth Cabinet is hosting the event at 5pm on Friday, 10 November at The Hive in Worcester.
Attendees will have a chance to meet Robin Walker MP and discuss their own political views.
UK Parliament Week is an annual event that aims to raise awareness about the UK Parliament and how young people can get involved.
It’s a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the workings of Parliament, take action, and make an impact on the issues that matter to you.
Last year, over 1.1 million participants from across the UK and the world united for UK Parliament Week.
Councillor Steve Mackay, cabinet member with responsibility for children and families at Worcestershire County Council said: “I am delighted to hear that our Youth Cabinet are engaging with UK Parliament week and hosting their own Youth Parliament event.
“It is an excellent opportunity for young people to actively engage in politics and find out more about how to affect change.
“I would encourage young people to come along and find out more about the excellent work our Youth Cabinet do and find out how to have their voices heard.”
The Worcestershire Youth Cabinet provides a platform for young people aged 11 to 18 to express their opinions and get involved in political matters.
Through various initiatives and events, the Youth Cabinet aims to empower young individuals and ensure their voices are heard.
