THE ANNUAL Foster Family Fun Day by Worcestershire Children First brought together 100 children and their foster carers.
The Young People Participation team organised the event, supported by staff from the Worcestershire Children First Through Care services.
The children were entertained with a variety of engaging and educational activities including a Harry Potter Room and a bug hotel building activity.
West Mercia Police officers also attended and showed the youngsters some of the force’s vehicles.
Tina Russell, director for children services and Worcestershire Children First chief executive, said she was delighted with the turn-out.
“It’s wonderful to hear so many fostering families attended our annual fun day and I really appreciate the staff who attended to support this event.
“This event reflects the recent Fostering Ofsted report, where they found carers supported the children to experience a wide range of activities both with their foster families and with their peers in the wider community.
“Some of the council’s corporate parents also attended the event, including Coun Steve Mackay, who was happy to help and join in the fun.”
She added she was extremely grateful to Atalian Servest which provided free refreshments and donated funds to help buy sporting equipment for the event.
Feedback from those who attended the fun day was overwhelmingly positive.
One said: “It was very enjoyable with plenty of things and activities for all children.”
Another added: “It was great to see Worcestershire Children First staff getting involved and supporting the event.”
Worcestershire Children First would like to thank to everyone who helped make this family fun day a great day for looked after children in the county.
