Family appeal for help after Majors Green house ransacked

A FAMILY are appealing for help after their house was burgled two weeks after it was hit by a car.

Karl Farrell and his family from Majors Green have been left homeless after the Audi crashed into his house, damaging the structure.

The incident happened in the early hours of July 1, leaving the house sealed off by the police.

While the family were waiting for their house to be made secure, thieves entered the property and ransacked it.

Karl said: “They took everything they could carry – my sons toys, his safe, our safe, the lot has gone.

“Because of the damage done to the house we had to leave without taking any of our valuables, so it was all left sitting there.”

Karl and his family have moved into rented accommodation, and were due to be collecting their belongings after the house was secured.

Because of the burglary, his family are left with nothing, and they are asking for help from the community.

“We left the house after the crash with only the things we were stood up in.

“The rental property we’ve moved to isn’t furnished so that’s the main thing we want to get sorted.”

Because they’re living in temporary accommodation they don’t want to buy brand new so are appealing to anyone selling second hand items to get in touch.

The family need household items, including a sofa, TVs, beds, kitchen table and chairs and a washing machine.

Karl added: “The insurance company have given us some money but it is nowhere near enough to fully furnish a home and we don’t want to buy everything all over again when this is only temporary.

“We’re not looking for handouts, we just want help getting back on our feet and to make the best of this situation.”
