Bromsgrove micropub to celebrate its first anniversary

BROMSGROVE’S first micropub will be rolling out the barrels this weekend to celebrate its first anniversary.

The Little Ale House, Worcester Road, will host a performance by town Samba band Someone at the Door at 2.45pm on Saturday (October 11) to celebrate the special occasion and there will be eight ales and eight ciders and perries on offer.

It has been an roller-coaster first 12 months for the venue – there were doubts over whether it would open on time because certain planning aspects had to be signed off.

The process usually took eight weeks but Bromsgrove District Council officers worked with landlord Terry Bacon to get the paperwork done more quickly than usual.

Then, in May this year, just months after opening, the venue was awarded Pub of the Season by the Redditch and Bromsgrove branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).

Mr Bacon said: “It has gone pretty well, but the first year is always the hardest.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to the people of Bromsgrove for supporting The Little Ale House and embracing the micropub concept.

“We want as many people as possible to come down tomorrow and help us celebrate our first anniversary.”
