FREE-SCORING Sporting put eight past Racing Club Warwick last Saturday as they notched up their biggest win of the season.

Sam Wills was the pick of the scorers as he bagged a hat-trick while Jozsef Jakab’s late brace rounded off a stunning performance from Bromsgrove.

Craig Jones, Aaron Daniels and Danny Lennon also got their names on the score-sheet as the hosts extended their unbeaten run to 11.

Manager Paul Smith urged his team to keep their feet no the ground after hammering Borrowash Victoria 5-0 in mid-week to progress to the third round of the FA Vase.

And that message is likely to be repeated after his side’s second successive goal-spree. Warwick were not a bad team, but once Bromsgrove opened their account they never looked back.

Daniels attempted to make his mark as early as the second minute when he received an superb pass from Wills and shot low forcing Conal Dowling to dive and make a good save.

With little warning of what was to follow, both sides pretty well cancelled each other out for the next twenty minutes.

But on the 27th minute the breakthrough came when the referee awarded Sporting a penalty after Wills was flattened in the box. The striker then picked himself up and confidently dispatched from the spot.

Sporting’s second came on 35 minutes and it was Wills again as he drove home from 15 yards out. Craig Jones added another just before the break with a firm header off Will Tibbetts corner to make it 3-0.

Bromsgrove continued in the same after the break as they took just seven minute to increase their goal tally. This time, Wills was the provider as his neat pass found Daniels who fired hard and low under the diving Dowling.

Keeper Jake Bedford had little to do in between Bromsgrove’s stick, but when called upon he had the answer as he did well to save Mark Turton’s shot on the 66th minute.

This was as close as Warwick came as Sporting dominated the second half and they struck again when Lennon scored from close range.

Bromsgrove could have been forgiven for taking their foot off the gas in the remaining minute as they led 5-0. But, instead, Smith’s men piled more misery on their opponents.

Jakab scored his side’s sixth before Wills completed his hat-trick when he climbed well to head in at the far post after a Jakab cross.

The Hungarian striker then got his second and Sporting’s eight with two added minutes on the clock when he just had to tap home from five yards out.
