Santiago youngsters win in County Cup

SANTIAGO U16 Colts sealed their place in the third round of the Birmingham County Cup with an emphatic 8-0 victory over Kings Norton Kickers.

Cieran Halpin was the pick of the scorers as he hit four while Jack Zammit bagged a brace and Remy Gordon and Archie Erin-Falk got on the scoresheet.

There were also eight goals scored in matches involving two other Santagio sides as U13 Superstars overcame a poor first half to beat Marston Green Minor 6-2, with Josh Donaghey notching four, and U14 Girls thumped Coventry Girls 7-1.

Toyah Spoor and Libby Stoodley both netted hat-tricks and Sophie Preston scored the other as U14 Girls returned to the top of the Premier League.




Leaders U12 Lions continue to ride high after they saw off Oakland Colts, with Harry Neal getting a double and Harrison Bates and McKenzie O’Sullivan also finding the back of the net.

Meanwhile, James Hughes scored the only goal as U14 Lions defeated Solihull Yellow 1-0, but U12 Crusaders suffered a 2-0 loss to Kings Heath Sports.


There was also disappointment for U14 Sirens, who slumped to a 4-2 defeat to Burntwood Phoenix, and U14 Shamrocks, who were hammered 5-1 by West Hagley.
