Robbie Bunn becomes Bromsgrove Sporting's third player to be put on contract

INFLUENTIAL midfielder Robbie Bunn has put pen to paper to sign a one-year contract with Bromsgrove Sporting.

The former Redditch United maestro becomes the third player in the Rouslers’ history to be put on a contract.

Star striker Jason Cowley was the first to be given a deal in January while former West Bromwich Albion professional Joe Ward was immediately put on contract after joining last season’s ‘Invincible’ Midland League Division One champions in May.

Sporting boss Paul Smith said: “Robbie has been brilliant for us but it’s been a tough year for him awards-wise because he did not win any.

“What Robbie brought to the party last season was immense and he was very instrumental because without him, we would not have had the success we enjoyed.

“Therefore I wanted to reward him for all his efforts.

“He’s at a great age (22) and there was some big interest in him towards the back end of last season.

“Putting Robbie on contract puts that interest to bed and will allow him to concentrate on us next season.”

Striker Chrisi Conway and midfielder John Pykett have also signed registration forms to become part of Smith’s squad of 18 for the 2017/18 Midland League Premier Division campaign.

New signings  Jordan Jones, Reece Francis, Duayne Courtney, Wade Malley, Josh Quaynor and Ward have signed for next season along with Chris Lloyd, Aaron Roberts, Reece Hewitt, Daniel Morris, Jason Cowley and Keenan Meakin-Richards.
