A PAIR of Mixed Martial Arts fighters from Solihull have been crowned world champions after winning titles at the Levels Fight League 5 event in Amsterdam, Netherlands last weekend.

Akonne ‘The Jedi’ Wanliss and former UFC fighter Tom Breese, who train at the Team Renegade Brazilian Jui Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts gym in Rednal, were both successful in their quest to win gold.

Wanliss became the new lightweight world champion with a submission victory in the third round against Albanian opponent Manuel Gaxhja.

And Breese claimed the middleweight world title by submitting Egyptian Ahmed Sami by guillotine choke in the second round of the main event.

‘The Jedi’ moves onto a 5-2 professional record after inflicting a first career loss on Gaxhja whilst Breese is now 14-3.
