Bromsgrove Sporting midfielder Robbie Bunn writes for The Standard in his weekly column and reflects on the results in the week.
WE HAVE picked up another two positive away results over the last week including a big three points at South Normanton and a successful cup win in Wolverhampton on Tuesday.
Saturday’s game brought a decent performance out of the lads, who in the end, proved that we had too much quality and were the better footballing side.
Cowley’s brilliance from a free-kick meant we would get to the break in front.
Pykett then got the second, producing the best quality of his career with his celebration.
It was much deserved for Johnny, although a lot of the boys are putting it down as an own goal!
Spinky sealed the win with a brilliant penalty to give us the three points and another solid clean sheet.
Even though I was not involved against AFC Wulfrunians, the boys were solid and did exactly what they needed to do to make sure we were in the draw for the next round.
Again Cowley produced the quality to ensure we would go through.
Overall it was a solid performance and a well-deserved win which leads us nicely into Non-League Day this weekend which will hopefully attract another huge crowd at the VG.
Hopefully it will be the biggest of the season so far!
