Bromsgrove Sporting midfielder Robbie Bunn writes for The Standard in his weekly column and reflects on the draw with Sporting Khalsa as well as this weekend’s clash at Coventry United.
OVERALL I thought we should have taken all three points on Saturday against Khalsa with a very strong and dominant second-half performance.
The first half was touch and go in terms of which team was in control of the game yet in the second half there was only one team really pushing to go on and win the game but missed chances and a bit of bad luck meant the points would be shared.
On a personal level it was nice to get on the scoresheet again even if it wasn’t the most convincing goal I’ve scored in a Sporting shirt!
In the end I believe it was vital that we did not end up losing the game after such a convincing second period and there were many positive points to take away from a game against a very good side.
Looking ahead to Saturday, we are up against a very good side in Coventry United, especially away from home!
It’s going to be a massive test for us as a group but it’s one that the boys will be ready for and fingers crossed we can get a positive result in front of hopefully another impressive away crowd.
