INSIDE VIEW - Robbie Bunn's Bromsgrove Sporting column

Bromsgrove Sporting midfielder Robbie Bunn writes for The Standard in his weekly column and reflects on the 2-1 victory at Rugby Town on Saturday.

THE WEEKEND’S game at Rugby Town worked out perfectly in terms of what we had set out to achieve before the game.

The gaffer had stated we had 18 ‘cup finals’ left this season which must be won in order to grab the success we are after in our league campaign.

We knew Rugby were in good form and had some very threatening players working in the final third of the pitch but again we felt if we turned up and put in a performance like we know we can, we would get a positive result.

The performance was overall a very good one in my opinion and dismissing the poor opening ten minutes, I felt we were the better side and deserved the three points which our two strikers ensured we would take.

It was brilliant to see Gregory smash his penalty home with real class and confidence but personally I was over the moon for Cowley to score the winning goal for us.

Although we all know how much effort and work rate he gets through, I know it’s been playing on his mind for a few weeks now that he hadn’t quite found the net.
