INSIDE VIEW - Craig Jones' Bromsgrove Sporting column

Bromsgrove Sporting skipper Craig Jones writes for The Standard in his weekly column, reflecting on the victory over Stourport Swifts and the importance of drawing a line under the defeats to Bedford and Corby.

AFTER the events of the previous week, having no game on Saturday made the period of reflection longer and that may have been a blessing in disguise.

That certainly seemed the case come Tuesday night at Stourport where the positive atmosphere in the dressing room was matched by the performance on the pitch.

The boys were excellent and put in a real professional performance to get us back on the wagon.

Some of the football played and the goals scored were a pleasure to watch.

Hopefully this will be the start of another unbeaten run, continuing at home against Yaxley on Saturday.

They’ve had a real hit and miss start to the season.

Some of their results are crazy and it’s clear that although they concede a fair few, they are very capable of scoring a lot of goals so it will be a big test of our mentality.

They’re a dangerous side so we will have to make sure we are back to our best in order to get the result that we want.

After our first ten games at this level we have put ourselves in a good position, regardless of our last two results.

A line must be drawn under those now so that we can kick on and achieve our potential in this league.

It all starts at the Vic on Saturday.

See you there.
