BROMSGROVE Sporting’s opening pre-season friendly at Gresley Rovers has been called off after their prospective opponents pitch was not ready to be played on.
Sporting were due to play their first match under new boss Thomas Baillie tomorrow with a trip to the Northern Premier League Midlands Division One side.
However, the club announced last night that the friendly had been cancelled and are now seeking another away game against different opposition.
Sporting tweeted: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Saturday’s fixture against Gresley Rovers has been called off.
“Due to this Saturday’s fixture being called off, we are now seeking an away fixture.
“Please email: dave@bromsgrovesporting.co.uk.”
Gresley tweeted: “Unfortunately, due to reasons beyond our control, the Moat Ground pitch will not be ready for Saturday’s friendly against Bromsgrove Sporting.
“The club has reluctantly taken the decision to cancel the fixture.”
