BROMSGROVE have managed to capture the services of former Worcester Warriors flanker Jake Abbott for the forthcoming Midlands One West campaign.
The ex-England Sevens star has impressed with the ambition and determination to bounce back from relegation from National Three South West last season.
Abbott said: “After a couple of years out the game, I’m looking forward to helping Bromsgrove both on the coaching and playing fronts.
“After meeting with Dan (Protherough, director of rugby) last week I can see the club are trying to be as professional as they can be at this level and I’m looking forward to helping drive this forward both on and off the pitch.”
Protherough added: “We are delighted to have Jake on board.
“Having coached him briefly with the North Midlands U20s many years ago, I remember an extremely professional and dedicated young man who proved that with what he achieved in his professional career.
“After meeting him last week it is apparent he has lost none of his enthusiasm or determination.
“He will bring both on field and off field leadership and demonstrate to the young players at the club what it requires to reach the top.”
