Bromsgrove left frustrated by wash-out

BROMSGROVE remain in third place in Division One of the Birmingham League after their match against Leamington Spa fell victim to the weather last Saturday.

Mark Evenson’s side, who are just one point adrift of joint leaders Smethwick and Walsall, would have been looking to return to the top of the table.

However, the wet weather led to wash out of the league’s fixtures while matches involving Bromsgrove Seconds, Thirds and Fourths were also postponed.

It was a similarly frustrating situation at Droitwich as they were unable to push on in Division One of the Worcestershire County League after their encounter against Worcester Nomads was called off.

The Thirds home clash against Coombs Wood at St Peter’s Fields also fell foul of the weather as did the Seconds’ trip to Cookley and the Fourths’ match at Bartestree.

Meanwhile, Barnt Green had to settle for five points as their Birmingham Premier League tie against WB Dartworth was abandoned as well as Himbleton and Avoncroft’s Division Three of the Worcestershire County League fixtures against Claverley and Ross on Wye respectively.
