CHADDESLEY CORBETT came away with the Division One Cup after coming out on top in the penalty shoot-out against Northfield Athletic.

After 90 minutes of football saw the scores locked at 1-1 it went straight to penalties with Corbett prevailing 3-1.

Anthony Ward got on the scoresheet for Corbett; Scott Taylor for Athletic.

In mid-week, Alcester Town were crowned champions of the Premier Cup following their 3-1 victory over Belbroughton Athletic thanks to two goals from Ellis Kalach and one from Josh Green.




George Ginn replied for Athletic.

Bartley Green Illey Sunday were dumped out of the Evesham Hospital Cup quarter-finals after losing 3-1 to Evesham & District League outfit Alcester Town while Hizza United booked their place in the semi-finals of the Kidderminster Hospital Minor Cup with a 5-3 victory over Wordsley Reserves.


Bromsgrove & District Premier Division leaders Thomas Brothers cemented their place at the summit of the table with a narrow 1-0 victory over Rubery Athletic with the only goal of the game coming from Ian Wroe.

The other game in the division saw WCT Youth Raiders ease past Oak Tree Sporting 7-0 courtesy of a Thomas Hobbs treble and one each from Darren Critcher, Joseph Haines, Steve Jefferies and Anthony Smith.

Division One leaders Northfield Athletic, despite their cup failures, kept up their title charge with a 4-1 victory at Stoke Sporting.

Second place Bartley Green Illey Sunday slipped up in their push for the title as they were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Spa Athletic thanks to an own goal and efforts from Kevin Owens and Matt Winsper.

Adam Neason and Dominic Strevens got on the scoresheet for Bartley Green.

Conway Albion enjoyed a 2-0 victory over GLA while the other game in Division One saw Wychbold RBL run out 3-1 winners at Sporting Rednal.

Henry Davis, Brett Mould and Bradley Talbot netted for Whycbold; Lloyd Newman for Albion.

Division Two leaders Rednal Social Club consolidated their position at the top with a narrow 3-2 victory over Awkies Allstars thanks to goals from Sam Brownhill, Jamie Ashmore and Graham Brennan.

Jason Gibbons and Michael Ryan netted for Allstars.

Meadow Park were involved in a double header against basement club Bridgfield and won by an aggregate of 15-3.

In the first game, Park ran out easy 11-2 winners courtesy of Sean Chance and Sam Wight hat-tricks, a Thomas Smith double and one each from Craig Barnett, Matthew Russell and Robert Southwell.

Chance bagged a hat-trick in the second game with Andrew Crowther adding the fourth.

Lee Farrell and Luke Hancock netted for Bridgfield in the first game with Hancock scoring again in the reverse fixture.

In a 13-goal thriller at Greenlands, LPR edged past Rubery Juniors 7-6.

Nathan Derricks bagged a double for Juniors with Dean Hodges, Ryan Khan, Jack Thompson and Lewis Boles completing their scoring.

Hizza United secured a 3-0 victory over Hewell while the other weekend game saw Sporting Club Redditch and Chaps United play out a 1-1 draw.

There was two games in mid-week in Division Two with Meadow Park beating Sporting Club Redditch 2-1 while Hewll and Awkies Allstars drew 2-2.

Division Three leaders Rubery FC inched closer towards the title with a 6-1 victory over AFC Millfields

Callowbrook Swifts Green remain six points behind after their 8-2 victory at Stoke Prior with third place Chaddesley Corbett Reserves a further five points behind following their 5-0 win over Arrow Valley.

Gary Moriaty, Adam Westcott, Leigh Keeling and Llewellyn Fisher netted for Callowbrook.

Elsewhere, Bromsgrove Corinthians defeated FC Bromsgrove 6-3 thanks to a Alex Beck double and one each from Edward Tear, Tommy Thompson, Chris Walder and Tom Mason.
