Work on extending Bromsgrove's Norton Collection Museum is now underway

WORK on extending Bromsgrove’s Norton Collection Museum is now underway.

When complete, the venue will have new glass frontage, stairs, lift and a cafe.

It will provide extra space for more artifacts, including seven guild statues that collection owner Dennis Norton has in storage.

The builders, who have carried out previous extensions on the museum, will create an aluminium frame for the new modern eye-catching glass front.

“The entrance room will be turned into a tea room for guests to enjoy,” said Dennis.

“I’d like to think we will be open by the end of May, but it could be June.

“It’s going to look absolutely fantastic. One of the big things is widening the stairs which currently people can’t pass on.

“The total cost is about £90,000 – we’ve raised a lot of that total but we’re still hoping for more donations to finish the rest off.”

Anyone wanting to donate or to find out more should visit http://nortoncollectionmuseumtrust.org.uk or call Dennis on 01527 919531.

Information can also be found on the museum’s Facebook page.
