AN art exhibition to celebrate work created in lockdown is taking place in the village hall in Alvechurch on from now until Sunday, July 24.

The collection of work has been created by artists from Bromsgrove, Alvechurch, Redditch and Droitwich during the pandemic.

The members of Pam’s Art Classes have been spurred on by their tutor’s regular messages and ideas for paintings which continued during the restrictions.

Pam McGregor said: “A few of the members found it difficult to get motivated during the periods of isolation and preferred to do other things.

“Whilst others found the time a golden opportunity to draw and paint more.

“But we will still have a wide variety of subjects, styles and abilities on display due to the hard work of the artists.”

The exhibition, entitled ‘Lockdown’ will include two years’ worth of paintings and is the 9th exhibition by Pam’s classes.

One of the features will be a number of pictures produced as part of a competition sponsored by Kamal Khan and Spring View Care, owners of Tutnall Hall in Bromsgrove and Grosvenor House near Alvechurch.

The winners of the competition will be chosen by the staff and residents at two local care homes.

The exhibition will be open from 10am until 6pm (5pm on Saturday), there is no charge for entry, refreshments will be available and some of the paintings will be for sale.
