Will you be taking part in the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust's firewalk in Upton Warren?

CHARITY champions are being sought to walk over hot coals to support the fight against childhood cancer.

The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust (GKCCT) are holding their first event firewalk next Friday (October 15) at Aztec Adventure in Bromsgrove.

The event will be hosted by UK Firewalk one of the UK ‘s leading firewalking companies. The walkers will be trained by Scott Bell – twice Guinness World Record holder for the greatest distance walked on fire – and then walk across hot coals with a temperature of more than 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

As a charity based in Worcestershire, the GKCCT receive no statutory funding so wholly rely on fund-raising and donations so they are actively seeking thrill seeker supporters to take on this challenge and help raise the valuable funds needed for the charity to continue their vital work.

Registration is just £30 and thrill-seekers are being asked to raise a minimum of £30 in sponsorship if able to. For taking part in the event you will receive a certificate and a GKCCT medal and of course the great feeling of achieving something as amazing as ‘walking on fire’.

The event is open to anyone aged 12 and above.

Set up in 2016, The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust was founded in memory of four-year-old Grace Kelly who sadly passed away in 2014. To date, Grace’s legacy has raised more than £1.8million.

The vision of the trust was born from the inspiration that Grace imparted on the people she met. Grace was a compassionate and caring little girl, who looked after others before herself.

Above all, she wanted to take care of others before herself.

Childhood cancer is not as rare as many may think. It affects one in every 500 children before the age of 15.
