West Midlands Railway names two local spots among go-to dog friendly locations

TWO local spots have been listed among the best in the West Midlands to visit with your dog by the region’s railway operator.

West Midlands Railway have compiled a list of the most in demand dog-friendly spots with Herbert’s Yard in Longbridge and the Lickey Hills in Rednal making the cut.

The list was compiled following recent research showing 74 per cent of people asked believed ‘eating out in pubs and restaurants’ was an important activity to do with their pooch.

Herbert’s Yard is a street food and bar venue created by Birmingham based Digbeth Dining Club. The venue boasts up to eight traders on rotation every week alongside a bar and large outdoor beer garden and dining spot.

The venue is just a few minutes walk from Longbridge railway station and dogs are always welcome.

Next up in the list of local spots to make the round up is the Lickey Hills. An historic and beloved open country park with hills, woodlands, nature trails, and reservoirs.

West Midlands Railway recommends jumping off the train at Barnt Green station and taking a four mile circular walk through the town and around the picturesque hills.
