West Mercia Police launch major new recruitment drive for officers

Bromsgrove Editorial 19th Nov, 2018   0

WEST Mercia Police have launched a campaign to recruit more officers.

As well as new student officers, applications are also being sought from officers from other police forces.

Martin Evans, Assistant Chief Constable for Local Policing, said: “The campaign aims to reach out to people who want to make a difference to the communities of Worcestershire, whether joining as new recruits or experienced police officers transferring from other forces, particularly detectives and firearms officers.

“Offering great staff benefits and career prospects, West Mercia Police has a strong family ethos. We pride ourselves on working closely together to get the job done, and you will be treated as a valued member of the team from day one.

“The nature of policing means that we interact with people from different backgrounds every day. Worcestershire is increasingly diverse, and it is vital that our workforce reflects our communities, so we particularly welcome applications from women and people with black and minority ethnic backgrounds.”

The campaign aims to deliver on West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion’s investment in an additional 100 posts to take the target for officer numbers to over 2000.
