Birmingham man charged with murder and woman named after body was found in Hopwood on Friday

A MAN has been charged over the death of a woman in Hopwood on Friday.

Kerry Owen, 35, was found dead on Wast Hills Lane around 6am.

Alan Edney, aged 30, of Kenilworth Road, Birmingham has been charged with her murder and has been remanded to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Tuesday, May 31).

A 51-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation.




Wast Hills Lane has now re-opened.

“We will need to keep the road closed for some time yet but we will provide an update when it’s open and provide further information as our investigation progresses.”
