A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after a crash in Northfield yesterday evening (Thursday).
The collision between the bike and a van happened on South Road, near the Bristol Road South, around 4.30pm.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival, we found a man who was the cyclist being cared for by bystanders.
“He was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained serious injuries.
“Ambulance staff administered advanced trauma care to him at the scene and he was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.”
No-one else was injured in the incident.
