STAFF at a Rubery nursery are celebrating after being granted the prestigious Millie’s Mark award.

Lilliput Children’s Day Nursery is thought to be the only one in the area with the accolade which is the gold standard for paediatric first aid.

It recognises childcare providers which go above and beyond the minimum requirements by having 100 per cent of staff trained in paediatric first aid. It also ensures everything learned during the course is kept alive and in the forefront of practitioners’ minds so that they are confident, ready and capable.

Director Alison Lane said: “We have always ensured all of our staff have been paediatric first aid trained but this award shows that we now go above and beyond what is legally required for the benefit of our children, staff and visitors.”

The award is valid for three years, provided all the nursery staff remain qualified and Millie’s Mark standards are met.

Alison thanked Chelsea who did all the hard work in co-ordinating this with her team and the NDNA Millie”s Mark team.
