Spate of car-key burglaries reported across Bromsgrove district

A NUMBER of cars have been stolen across Bromsgrove district where the thieves have gained access to homes before taking the keys.

Last Friday (March 17) between 7.40am and 8.39m burglars broke into a house in Wythall via the back patio doors.

The resident returned to their home in Silver Street and noticed the door open and car lights on the driveway.

As they opened the door they were confronted by a man who told them to get back inside before driving off in the owner’s silver BMW 123D, which had the registration number YC58 XSE.




Last Wednesday (March 15), a Rowney Green resident was threatened with a crowbar and bat during a car key robbery.

The raiders entered the property in Rowney Green Lane through the unlocked front door between 7.30pm and 8.30pm and then, after getting the keys, they drove away in the owner’s blue Audi SQ5 Quatro which had the registration number E8 RBK.


Between 2pm on March 10 and 5.10am on March 12 a blue Volkswagen Golf with the registration number PJ54 ULG was stolen in a car key burglary in Linthurst Newtown, Blackwell.

The burglars snapped the lock of the back door to gain entry.

The property was ransacked, the car keys were stolen and the car was taken.

In Hagley between 8pm and 10.56pm on March 11 thieves entered a property on The Crescent via an unlocked door.

They took the keys to a white Mercedes C250 with the registration number BF60 DLE and then drove off in the vehicle.

Witnesses or anyone with any information on any of the car key burglaries should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
