AN APPEAL has been launched for volunteers to help with planting for this year’s Rubery In Bloom.
Lorna Ockendon spoke at the latest Rubery PACT meeting on Monday about the scheme which sees, where possible, a flower box placed under every sign in the village by the end of May.
There are also other troughs in and a round the village which are planted out by the group.
Lorna Ockendon said: “People don’t have to do loads, just a couple of hours.
“A lot of people doing a little gets the troughs planted out.
“We also depend on the residents who continue to water the troughs near their homes – they do a brilliant job.”
Rubery In Bloom achieved the top – Level Five – award from Heart of England in Bloom last year for the third year running.
