A SPECIAL presentation was made at Beacon Church Centre in Rubery on Sunday (April 23) to Bob Sawyer.
Bob has given 50 years service to the church as Deacon and Elder.
After first being elected in 1967, Bob has served with seven different ministers, faithfully carrying out his range of duties.
He is also a stalwart of the successful Rubery Drama Group, along with his wife Angela, providing a continuous link with the church which formed the group and still hosts its productions.
Rev Ian Ring told The Standard Bob had done so much for the community over the last five decades.
“As minister I have found Bob’s support and encouragement a great help.”
