A RUBERY care home is proud to have hosted a ‘memorable’ afternoon tea to raise funds for a local hospice.

The Oaks Care Home arranged an afternoon tea for families, friends and the local community to help raise vital funds for The Birmingham Hospice on October 11.

Guests were invited to indulge in an array of sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and preserves, and an assortment of freshly made cakes, all prepared by the care home’s chefs.

The event also featured a talk from corporate fundraiser Esme Lloyd-Kelly and a raffle with prizes generously donated by local businesses.

“We are thrilled to host this afternoon tea fundraiser,” said Zoe Doherty, customer focus lead at the home.

Esme Lloyd-Kelly said: “Not only was it a delightful occasion for all who attended, but the funds raised will enable us to help with providing exceptional care and support to those in our community who need it most.”

All proceeds will directly benefit Birmingham Hospice, enabling them to enhance their services, provide comfort to patients and their families, and support their commitment to offering outstanding end-of-life care.
