Raffle to mark milestone for Avoncroft Museum

Bromsgrove Editorial 28th Jul, 2017   0

A GRAND summer raffle is being held by Avoncroft Museum as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, writes Sam Arrowsmith.

There are a wide range of prizes up for grabs with the first prize being a canal boat spring mini break for four worth £800.

Second prize is a family entertainment package worth £450 and the third prize is a couples’ activity package worth more than £350.

Other prizes include a milling experience for two at the museum and a bottle of wine signed by Prime Minister Theresa May.

Proceeds from the prize draw will help fund the ongoing costs of the Bromsgrove museum.

Avoncroft Museum opened in 1967 with the aim of restoring historic buildings so they could be enjoyed by future generations.

It prides itself on being a venue where visitors find out more about history through ‘hands-on’ learning.

It now boasts 46,000 visitors-a-year and the museum costs £460,000 per year to run.

Admissions and annual memberships fund 39 per cent of the overheads with the rest needing to be raised through fund-raising.

Tickets are on sale in the museum shop for £1 each.
