THE RAILWAY line between Redditch and Longbridge has now re-opened, following the earlier incident when a man was hit by a train at Alvechurch
It happened at 12.38pm and the man was confirmed dead at the scene.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Work is now underway to identify the person and inform their family.”
He added the incident was not being treated as suspicious and a file would be prepared for the coroner in due course.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service said it received a call at 12.41pm and sent the HART (Hazardaous Area Response Team) crew, the West Midlands CARE team and a paramedic officer to the scene but nothing could be done to save the person.
