AS THE work on the Oldbury stretch of the M5 gets under way, there will be carriageway closures this week to the junctions serving Bromsgrove as part of the scheme.

The M42 to M5 link road will be fully closed from 8pm tonight (Monday) and tomorrow night (Tuesday) until 6am tomorrow and Wednesday.

During those times, the northbound Junctions 1 to 2, along with the Junction 2 slip road will also be shut.

On Wednesday and Thursday (July 19 and 20) there will be a full closure of the northbound M5 from Junction 4 (Bromsgrove) to Junction 3 (Halesowen) – again from 8pm to 6am on those days.

Then from 8pm to 6am on Friday and Saturday, there will be full closures of the northbound M5 from Junction 3 (Halesowen) to Junction 1 (West Bromwich).

Highways England, which is carrying out the work, states there will be diversion routes in place during these times.
