Northfield man charged over hostage incident at Natwest

THE MAN arrested in connection with holding a woman hostage at the Northfield branch of  Natwest has been charged with false impisonment and possession of an imitation firearm.

 

David Hempseed was arrested following the incident on Friday at the branch on Bristol Road South.

The 60 year-old from Northfield, Birmingham, is also charged with possession of a knife and arson with intent to endanger life.

He has been remanded in custody to face the allegations at Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday).
