New campaign urges people at risk of HIV to get tested

Bromsgrove Editorial 24th Nov, 2018   0

A NATIONWIDE HIV testing drive is calling for those at risk from HIV to come forward and have a simple test to boost detection rates.

This year’s theme is ‘Give HIV The Finger’, which aims to demonstrate that getting tested for HIV is as easy as a quick finger-prick test.

People who have been diagnosed with HIV can then access free treatment and support.

The message is that HIV can affect anyone but if you are in a high risk group or think you may be at risk you can now order a free HIV sampling kit – a simple finger-prick blood test to take in the privacy of your own home.

This access can be at freetest.me/hiv-postal-test

People can also have an HIV test at a sexual health service in Redditch, at the Arrowside Sexual Health Clinic in Smallwood House, Church Green West, call 01527 516398 or at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital, Bromsgrove, on 01527 516398.
